Formal credit arrangements occur when a Bay of Plenty Polytechnic qualification or paper(s) can be credited to a University of Waikato qualification, reducing the time required to complete the higher level qualification.

For information on new arrangements added since the publication of this handbook, please refer to www.uwt.waikato.ac.nz or www.boppoly.ac.nz.

Facilities

Classes are taught at the Bongard Centre and Windermere Campus. A range of technology and media, including face-to-face teaching, video conferencing and the internet, are used.

For many classes, video conferencing connects Tauranga classrooms to courses at the University of Waikato Hamilton campus as they are being taught, so students get exactly the same lectures as their Hamilton classmates. Students can interact with their lecturers in Hamilton via video conference link as well as by email and phone.

Other classes are taught face-to-face by Tauranga-based lecturers and tutors, and some Hamilton-based lecturers travel to Tauranga to lecture and tutor. Students have access to the libraries at the University of Waikato in Hamilton and the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic.

A librarian at the Bongard Centre can assist with tutorials and reference questions. Students can access the full range of university library catalogues and electronic databases, and also order books to be delivered from Hamilton.
