Scott Henderson is the School Liaison at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic and thrives on the nonstop action the role offers. He really enjoys spreading his enthusiasm for education to the high school students of our region. There is never a dull moment between presentations, expos, events, campus tours and the myriad of other things going on.
"I am passionate about education and enjoy getting out there meeting people and trying to help young adults find their true direction in life. There are many more degree pathways now, and with the University of Waikato moving in to our campus in 2009 this is going to be a very exciting and rewarding year."
He is also the Regional Manager for a student exchange programme mentoring teenagers from across the globe, and has a background in ESOL teaching at the University of Waikato, teaching in Japan, and working in sales, marketing and tourism roles both in New Zealand and overseas.

Book in to be a Student for a Day.
Senior students (years 11-13) can spend the day or half as a 'student' in their chosen subject area, where they can talk with tutors and students about the programme and career options, and investigate the facilities and services we have available on campus. Start and finish times for the days vary, depending on the programme selected. Tutors on some programmes prefer to have information sessions one on one with a student rather than have them sit in on the class.
Students will be met at the Information Centre of the appropriate campus and shown to the classroom or workshop.
Clothing and footwear should be appropriate to the programme. Heavy footwear is required in workshops; tracksuits are suitable for sports programmes; hospitality programmes require smart black and white clothing with covered shoes. Please check with Polytechnic staff when arranging.
Please book through the online Student for a Day form.
