Ako Awe

Academic assistance, guidance and support are available at Windermere Campus and Bongard Centre in the Ako Atea (Learning Commons). We provide a high quality, friendly and free service and you can access support from either campus throughout the year.
We provide a range of holistic and proactive support to students enrolled in the Polytechnic including academic support, study skills, research and information literacy skills. We are also able to provide support in computing, maths and Te Reo and tikanga Maori.

Ako Atea (Learning Commons)
We offer a variety of services in an open space, including:
- Access to computers
- Printers
- Photocopying
- Library resources
- Group study room
- Wifi
- Laptops
- Group study rooms
- Cafes
Staff are always available to assist students in any of these matters.
Ako Awhina
Students working in each programme have access to Learner Facilitators and Knowledge Facilitators who provide:
- Academic writing support
- Study skills
- Preparation for assessment
- Information literacy skills
- Research support
- Finding and using resources (i.e. databases)
As well as this, specialist support is available in:
- How to use the computers and systems
- Mathematics
- Mātauranga Māori
