Bongard Centre

Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Bongard Centre

Bongard Centre is home to our business administration, business management, computing and legal studies programmes, featuring purpose-built lecture theatres, computer labs and administration facilities.

With its own library, student support, health and international services as well as Student Worx and a rooftop café, you have everything you need at Bongard, plus you have the advantage of being in the heart of the city.

Parking is available at low cost in a nearby student car park and a range of buses stop just down the road.

From Mount Maunganui (north of Hewletts Road)

  • From Maunganui Road roundabout (by KFC) take the exit over the railway tracks onto Hewletts Road in the direction of Tauranga.
  • Go over the Harbour Bridge and take the second exit to the city/Otumoetai. Turn left at the lights onto Chapel Street and head up the hill. Chapel Street becomes Cameron Road.
  • The polytech is only a minute's drive or so on your left, just after Spring Street.

From Te Puke and Whakatane:

  • From Maunganui Road take the Hewletts Road flyover onto Hewletts Road in the direction of Tauranga.
  • Go over the Harbour Bridge and take the second exit to the city/Otumoetai. Turn left at the lights onto Chapel Street and up the hill. Chapel Street becomes Cameron Road.
  • The polytech is only a minute's drive or so on your left, just after Spring Street.

From Hamilton & Rotorua:

  • Take SH29 in the direction of Tauranga, Mount Maunganui for approx. 58km over the Kaimai Ranges. As you come down off the ranges you'll go through a roundabout with a toll road on your left and The Lakes residential development on your right. Continue straight through and up the hill.
  • At Barkes Corner at the top of the hill go left onto Cameron Road for about 9km.
  • The polytech is on your right just after the Elizabeth Street intersection.

From Waihi & Auckland:

  • Take SH2 for approx 57.5km and continue straight onto Fifteenth Avenue at Tauranga.
  • At the Fifteenth Ave traffic lights (Tauranga Boy's College is on the corner) turn left onto Cameron Road for about 2.5km
  • The polytech is on your right just after the Elizabeth Street intersection.

Parking:
Bongard Centre offers limited parking for people with disabilities (with display of a mobility card). Metered parking is available on nearby streets and at the Elizabeth Street car parking building. Find out more about parking.

Public Transport:
Tauranga City central bus stop on Wharf Street is within walking distance of the Bongard Centre. Timetables are available from the Information Centre, by phoning Bayhopper on 0800 4 BAYBUS (0800 422 9287) or on the Bayhopper website.
