Student Concerns & Complaints
Bay of Plenty Polytechnic takes students' complaints seriously and is committed to dealing with them fairly, and as quickly as possible. Complaints are handled according to a clearly defined set of procedures. Find out more in our 'Making Things Better' (pdf 163kb) brochure.
Concerns or complaints may initially be made informally or if you prefer, in writing on this BoPP Complaints Form (pdf 98kb) to the Head of School or directly to the Complaints Officer. The form is also available from the Administrator Team Leader, and from the Information Centre, Ako Awe, the Library and Student Worx.
The Students' Association (BOPPSA) is also able to support you in making a complaint.
Harassment
Harassment is behaviour that is:
-
Unwanted or offensive
-
Not legitimate
-
Repeated or serious
-
Hurtful
-
An abuse of power
It may be sexual harassment or harassment based on gender, race, age, appearance, religion or any other factor. Most importantly, it has a detrimental effect on you, your work, your learning and/or performance.
Harassment is against the Student Code of Conduct (see Student Regulations below) and is dealt with as quickly and effectively as possible, in the same way as complaints. You can download a complaints form above.
These regulations were developed in consultation with staff and students, and have been endorsed by the polytechnic’s Executive. They will be reviewed every three years or as required.
