Learning Support

Bay of Plenty Polytechnic offers support, information and resources for students with disabilities, as well as for staff and advocates. Our learning advisor (disabilities) is pro-active in ensuring that campuses are safe, welcoming and comfortable places for people with disabilities.

Through this service, students with disabilities can access information on courses, allowances or legislation, specialised equipment and adaptive technology, learning assessments or one-to-one assistance from note takers, reader/writers, peer tutors, or the learning adviser for
students with learning disabilities.

Disability awareness is actively promoted among staff and students, because the service aims to empower people with disabilities.
