The Grinder - The ultimate multisport battle

The action packed multisport event is unique to Bay of Plenty Polytechnic and covered some of Tauranga’s most spectacular terrain while providing a challenge for the most hardened competitor. We saw many Tauranga locals (and those from further a field!) getting out there and contributing to a real community event - a family weekend of fun.

In 2010, we've split The Grinder events into two separate weekends:

Notes & Updates

Pre-Race Run
If you would like the chance to run the 11km and 5km run courses, marathon champion runner Tracey Clissold will be taking bookings for Sunday, 12 September 2010, at 10am. Phone 027 487 5377. Small charge of $5 will apply.

Would You Like To Volunteer?
No event of this size can run successfully without the help and support of numerous dedicated volunteers. If you'd like to lend a hand pre, post or during the event (e.g. as an event marshal), we'd love to hear from you. Register your interest with Keith Martin, Aquatic Centre Manager.

Kayak Hire
Available from Waimarino Kayaks, phone 07 576 4233 or email info@waimarino.com. Kayaks will be transported to and from McLaren Falls by Waimarino Kayaks.
