BOPPSA is a voluntary student body whose primary aim is to support students and act as an advocate for students within the polytechnic system. During the year if you or your class have any queries or concerns regarding your course, tutor, or any polytechnic services – come to us for support. We can guide you through the maze of polytechnic procedures and make sure that your voice is heard.
A BOPPSA representative will come to your class at the beginning of the year to let you know about us. Following that your tutor will help you select a class representative; they will be our contact person for your class.
BOPPSA executives meet regularly with polytechnic management to voice student views, ideas and concerns. We also provide representation on polytechnic groups such as the Polytechnic Council and Academic Board and school forums.
Please phone for availability on either campus (leave a message):
Students can also leave written messages for BOPPSA in our green mailboxes situated in the Education Development Centre and Student Worx at both campuses. Alternatively you can e-mail us on student.council@boppoly.ac.nz. All messages will be replied to.
We aim to help you when problems occur and assist you in knowing and exercising your rights. We do three things on a personal and private basis:
For more information and/or assistance on the advocacy service, please contact a Student Council Representative or the Student Worx Team. Students can contact BOPPSA by phone (leave a message): Windermere ext. 6620 Bongard ext. 5584.
