Please ask the friendly staff at the desk if you need help using the library, the catalogue, internet, or online databases. If you need a little extra help using library resources, please book a time with one of the liaison librarians.

Library Resources
The Windermere and Bongard library collections contain a variety of resources to help in your studies including reference section, periodicals, newspapers, DVDs, Maori collection, internet access, online databases, and posters. The main collections contain material related to the subject areas taught by the institute.

Library Catalogue
This tells you which library holds an item, and whether it's available or on loan. Please do ask for help if you need it.

Student Computers
The student computers provide access to the library catalogue and online databases that the library subscribes to.

Requesting items
If the item you want is already on loan you can request it and we'll contact you when it's ready for you to collect. To make a request use the catalogue to search for the item and click “Make a Request” on the right hand side. Then choose “Hold” on the patron request screen. Remember to choose the correct pick-up location.

Requesting items from the Bongard or Windermere libraries
There's a shuttle service that delivers material between the Bongard and Windermere libraries. If the item you want is held in the other campus library use the catalogue to search for the item, click “Make a Request” on the right hand side, and then choose “Intercampus Request”.  Remember to choose the correct pick-up location.

Interloan Requests
Books that our library doesn't hold may be available from another library. Please enquire about the cost before making a definite interloan request, as there may be charges for some items. Requests may take a week or two so forward planning is important. Read more about interloans.

Group Study Rooms
The libraries provide group study rooms for student use.  Each room has a DVD player and monitor.  Rooms may be booked for up to 2 hours. The room bookings are self-managed and booking sheets are available from both libraries. Alternatively, send an email to libraryrequests@boppoly.ac.nz with your name, student ID, and the date/time you need the room.

Course Reserve
Material that's in high demand or required for assignments may be placed on course reserve by your tutor. Material in course reserve is only available for use within the library. You can't take it away. To access this material you'll need to bring your library card to the issue desk along with the details of the item you wish to use. Your tutor will inform you if there's any material related to your course in this collection.

Photocopying
The libraries have photocopiers with swipe card access. You'll need your student ID card and your 4 digit PIN number to use the copier. An A4 black and white copy costs 10 cents per page.

Stationery Items for Sale
Books a Plenty operate a bookstore in Room A8 at Windermere next to the library.
