Top IT grad supported by local telco specialists

Computing and IT graduate Michael Jansen was thrilled to be the recipient of the top student award, presented by local telecommunications company Zintel Cogent at the School of Business Graduation ceremony in late December.
“The CCNA course was extremely well run,” said Michael. “I believe the entire class appreciated the effort put in by the Polytechnic and especially our tutor, Stefan Stasiewicz. It was a fun course to do and well worthwhile.
“Many thanks also to Zintel Cogent who sponsored the prize which was indeed a pleasant and unexpected surprise after the conclusion of the course. I received an Apple 8G iPod Touch as well as assorted Zintel merchandise which I am certainly putting to good use!”
Warren Seddon, Technical Operations Manager for Zintel Cogent says “We’re proud to be a sponsor of this award; the event is a nice fit for our company.”
The CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) course which contains four modules can be completed part-time and provides study towards the globally recognised Cisco CCNA industry certification. This certification can also be completed as part of the Polytechnic’s Diploma in Applied Computing Level 6 programme.

Mr Seddon completed his CCNA certification in 2010 and is a staunch advocate for this course. “This course is highly relevant to the telecommunications industry; the facilities at the Polytechnic were fantastic - I really enjoyed the course.”
