Certificate in Trades Technology Level 2

Interested in cars, engineering, welding or carpentry but not sure exactly what career would be best for you? We offer a heap of courses and study options that you might be into so this is the best place to start - with a taster of everything, to work out what will be best for you.

This is a hands-on programme and will give you a qualification and the skills to make informed decisions on further training in the automotive, engineering, welding or carpentry trades.

Content Details

Theory training will be backed up by doing workshop-based projects within each subject area.

The programme will prepare you for the workplace and introduces essential skills and safe working practices for the trades area. You'll also learn career planning, CV preparation and maths and literacy skills. Practical work includes:

  • setting out a house site
  • using power tools
  • dismantling and assembling motors
  • using mig and gas welding equipment

English Language Requirements
If you are an overseas student or a new resident and English is not your first language, please note that study at tertiary level requires both written and oral participation.

You will be required to have an IELTS score of 5.5 or TOEFL score of 500.

Indicative Fees

  • $1,782 incl. course related costs

The standard published fee is applicable for New Zealand citizens and permanent residents only.

An international fee is payable for non New Zealand citizens/permanent residents.
