Tools for Academic Study Level 4

Have you got a tertiary diploma or degree in your sights, but want to refresh your study skills first? This course is perfect if you're returning to study or just want to be well prepared for the next chapter in your academic life.

Gain the skills, confidence and experience to study a tertiary diploma or degree. Content includes communication skills, report writing, problem solving, academic reading and analysis, knowledge of statistics, graphs and tables. This course is FREE for New Zealand citizens and residents.

Classes take place daily from 9.00am to 3.00pm.

Content Details

  • Communication for study
  • Write in plain English
  • Write a short report
  • Select, read and analyse academic texts appropriately to support essay and report writing and presentations
  • Solve problems involving calculation and demonstrate knowledge of statistics, graphs and table

Entry

Open entry. Information about this programme and the related Level 3 programme will be discussed with you to identify which will suit you best.

English Language Requirements
If you are an overseas student or a new resident and English is not your first language, please note that study at tertiary level requires both written and oral participation.

You will be required to have an IELTS score of 5.5 or TOEFL score of 500.

Indicative Fees

  • This course is FREE for NZ citizens and permanent residents
  • $2,215 - international student fee

The standard published fee is applicable for New Zealand citizens and permanent residents only.

An international fee is payable for non New Zealand citizens/permanent residents.

Qualifications Gained

Upon successful completion of the programme you will receive an achievement record.
