National Certificate in Hairdressing (Professional Stylist, Hairdressing Apprentice Training) Level 4

If you're currently working in a salon for at least 20 hours each week and have a training agreement with the Hairdressing Industry Training Programme (HITO), then this course of study is for you.

We have been selected by the HITO as the sole provider of off-job training of hairdressing apprentices throughout the wider Tauranga region.

As an apprentice you’ll come to us for training on the day release programme and complete credits towards your Certificate. Once all off-job units are complete, a further two units are required to finish this qualification. These are assessed by industry.

Content Details

The programme is split into three years of part-time study. The HITO, in consultation with Bay of Plenty Polytechnic, will assess any credits you have gained towards the Level 4  qualification and advise you the level of study you are required to attend.

Each year of study progresses from basic introductory skills and knowledge through to more complex unit standards.
