National Certificate in Horticulture (Post-Harvest Strand) Level 4

Continuing on from the National Certificate in Horticulture Level 2, this course of study gives you the skills you need to move your career in the post-harvest sector to the next level. You'll study horticultural pests and diseases, pruning, propogation and plant science, and enjoy industry-based work experience that allows you to put your skills into practice.

The programme has been developed to give you a background in the core horticultural sciences, with options in specialist areas for your chosen field. This knowledge will be an invaluable asset as you progress through your horticultural career.

You will be taught theory aspects of all subjects along with appropriate practical training. Where possible theory lessons will coincide with tasks carried out in industry.

The flexible nature of the programme has been designed so that you attend class in the less busy periods of your sector.

Entry

You must have gained the National Certificate in Horticulture Level 2.

English Language Requirements

If you are an overseas student or a new resident and English is not your first language, please note that study at tertiary level requires both written and oral participation.

You will be required to have an IELTS score of 5.5 or TOEFL score of 500.

Indicative Fees

  • $150

The standard published fee is applicable for New Zealand citizens and permanent residents only.

An international fee is payable for non New Zealand citizens/permanent residents.
