Sale of Liquor Act Seminar (Towards Licence Controller Qualification)

This programme provides you with a working knowledge of the Sale of Liquor Act and prepares you for manager's certification.

On completion of the seminar you'll be able to apply to the Hospitality Standards Institute (HSI) for a Licence Controller Qualification and then to the City Council for the General Manager's Certificate. You attend two classes and complete the theory component of the programme online.

This programme covers two NZQA unit standards:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989 and implications on licensed premises operations (4646)
  • Demonstrate knowledge of host responsibility requirements as a liquor license controller (16705)

Entry

You must be at least 18 years of age.

English Language Requirements
If you are an overseas student or a new resident and English is not your first language, please note that study at tertiary level requires both written and oral participation.

You will be required to have an IELTS score of 5.5 or TOEFL score of 500.

Indicative Fees

  • $230 incl. course related costs

The standard published fee is applicable for New Zealand citizens and permanent residents only.

An international fee is payable for non New Zealand citizens/permanent residents.

Upon successful completion of the programme you will receive:
