Certificate in Preparation for Law Enforcement Level 3

Do you want to work in the NZ Police Force, armed forces, New Zealand prisons or security services? This course of study will prepare you so that when you submit your application for employment you’ll have the best possible chance of succeeding.

You'll gain knowledge in numeracy, literacy, computing, first aid, defensive driving, the law, the Treaty of Waitangi and dealing with different cultures, developing and achieving a fitness programme, and gain test and problem solving skills.

Other Criteria
Applicants need to be aware that the New Zealand Police seek applications from people who are at least 18 years of age with no convictions and there are strict health requirements. You will be asked questions regarding these requirements at interview. You must be willing to undertake physical and strength development on both land and water.

English Language Requirements
If you are an overseas student or a new resident and English is not your first language, please note that study at tertiary level requires both written and oral participation.

You will be required to have an IELTS score of 5.5 or TOEFL score of 500.

Indicative Fees

  • $1,770 incl. course related costs

The standard published fee is applicable for New Zealand citizens and permanent residents only.

An international fee is payable for non New Zealand citizens/permanent residents.
