Introduction to Travel & Tourism Level 2

This free, one week programme will give you an overview of the hospitality, tourism and travel industry including requirements for working in hotels, travel agencies and tourist attractions.

The programme covers two prerequisite unit standards required for entry into the National Certificate in Tourism (Core Skills) Level 3 and National Certificate in Travel Level 3.

The courses cover language, literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills related to the travel and tourism industry that will prepare you for more advanced study.

The programme covers the following unit standards:

  • Perform calculations for a tourism workplace (18237)
  • Read and comprehend work-related documents in English for a tourism workplace (23761)

Entry

You must be enrolled, the week proceeding, in one of the following programmes:

English Language Requirements
If you are an overseas student or a new resident and English is not your first language, please note  that study at tertiary level requires both written and oral participation.

You will be required to have an IELTS score of 6 or TOEFL score of 550.

Indicative Fees

  • This course is FREE for NZ citizens and permanent residents

The standard published fee is applicable for New Zealand citizens and permanent residents only.

An international fee is payable for non New Zealand citizens/permanent residents.
