Tourism Customer Service Skills
Tourism is a customer-based industry. Most employees work as part of a team, aiming to provide excellent service to people enjoying their travel and leisure time. We will teach you effective communication skills, team work and the importance of being able to deal with a range of customers, responding to their different needs and requests. You will learn correct pronunciation of Mäori place names and their significance to tourism.

Tourism Pathways
This course will help you understand the roles and careers within tourism, your legal rights and responsibilities, and help you create a personal development plan in your chosen role within the industry. You will explore how the tourism industry operates and the many career opportunities it provides.

Tourism Operations
The course teaches you the practical aspects of working in the industry including the use of computers, sales functions, and processing retail payments. You will gain skills on how to provide information to visitors and learn about Mäori customs and practices within New Zealand tourism.

Some Level 2 Tourism units or equivalent knowledge or experience.

English Language Requirements
If you are an overseas student or a new resident and English is not your first language, please note that study at tertiary level requires both written and oral participation.

You will be required to have an IELTS score of 6 or TOEFL score of 550.

The standard published fee is applicable for New Zealand citizens and permanent residents only.

An international fee is payable for non New Zealand citizens/permanent residents.
