PROGRAMME SPECIFIC SCHOLARSHIPS @ BOP POLYTECHNIC:

 


 

BAYERBoost ($6,000- Marine & Environmental students)
BAYERBoost aims to give tertiary undergraduate students work experience in environmental research or restoration during their summer break while at the same time providing financial support to assist them with further study. It is funded by Bayer New Zealand and administered by the Royal Society of New Zealand.  Organisations to date that have agreed to act as host organisations for students include Agresearch, Landcare, Department of Conservation, Dexell and NIWA.  More information about BAYERBoost is available through the website www.bayerboost.co.nz.

BOP Polytechnic Howie Hinton Memorial Scholarship (Sport & Recreation) ($1,500)
Howie Hinton Application (PDF, <200kb)
Open to Diploma in Sport & Recreation Level 6 students who are enrolling in their second year of study.

BOP Polytechnic John Britten Memorial Scholarship (Full programme fees)
John Britten Application (PDF, <200kb) 
This scholarship seeks to encourage the attributes John Britten was known for in others as they enter the industry. It provides funding to a student who has successfully completed the National Certificate in Motor Industry (Automotive Electrical and Mechanical Engineering) Level 3 Light Vehicle Strand, who wishes to continue their education with Bay of Plenty Polytechnic in the National Certificate in Motor Industry (Automotive Engineering) Level 4 in the following year.

BOP Polytechnic Kelly Tarlton's Marine Studies Scholarships (Full programme fees)
Kelly Tarlton Application (PDF, <200kb)
Open to anyone planning to enter the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Diploma in Marine Studies Level 6. The Recipient will get the opportunity to work at Kelly Tarltons over the summer break.

BOP Polytechnic Peter Bulfield Memorial Scholarships (Business Administration) (Two of $750 each)
Peter Bulfield Application (PDF, <200kb)
Open to full-time Business Administration students who are enrolled in semester one and are continuing on to semester two.

BOP Roger Dickie Memorial Scholarship (Maritime Studies)($1000)
Roger Dickie Memorial Scholarship Application (PDF, <200kb)
This scholarship assists students from throughout New Zealand with fees and associated expenses whilst completing the Certificate in Maritime and Fishing Technology Level 3 at Bay of Plenty Polytechnic.

Applications close two weeks before programme completion.

 


 

BOP Polytechnic TrustPower Scholarship (Environmental Management, $1,500)
TrustPower Environmental (PDF, <200kb)
Open to anyone planning to enter the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Diploma in Environmental Management Level 6.

Applications close: late October.

 


 

NZ Transport Agency Safety Skills Award
NZ Transport Award Application Form (PDF, 105kb)
Open to students in the Commercial Road Transport Level 3 in recognition of a high standard of practical skills in the Certificate in Commercial Road Transport Level 3. There are two scholarships available for each of the two annual intakes.

February & July. Applications are to be received no later than 3 weeks after the start of the programme.

 


 

Restaurant Association Education Trust Scholarships ($3,000)
The association offers a number of scholarships for secondary school students planning to enrol in a full-time (minimum 24 weeks) hospitality programme, and for hospitality students pursuing Level 4 Hospitality units. Details and application forms can be downloaded from www.restaurantnz.co.nz/education.asp.

Applications close: late October.

 


 

TeachNZ Scholarships (Early Childhood Education)
For more information and application details see www.teachnz.govt.nz.

Applications close: November 30 for study starting in Semester One of the following year; OR July 31 for study starting in Semester Two of the year of application.

 


 

Te Putea Whakatapu Scholarships (Details at teohu.maori.nz)
A large number of scholarships of varying values are available to Maori students. These scholarships provide support from Te Ohu Kai Moana for Maori students studying for the:

  • Maritime New Zealand statutory qualifications - selection of short programmes
  • National Certificate in Seafood Vessel Operations (Nautical Skills) Level 3
  • Certificate in Maritime & Fishing Technology Level 3
  • Diploma in Marine Studies Level 6

Applications close: various times during year according to intake of programme. Check with Information Centre.

 


 

TECT - Electrical and Electronic Engineering Scholarships (Six of $2000) 
TECT Engineering (PDF, <200kb)
Open to people planning to enrol into the National Certificate in Electrical Engineering Level 3 or the Certificate in Electronic Engineering Level 3.

Applications close: late May.

 


 

TECT - VIA University College Architectural Technology Study Award ($5000 towards travel)
TECT Architectural (PDF, <200kb)
Open to second year students and past graduates of the National Diploma in Architectural Technology Level 6, at BOP Polytechnic to study at VIA University College in Horsens, Denmark.
