Road Transport Part-time Programmes

There are huge job opportunities in the Road Transport sector for suitably qualified people. Enhance your employment success through the full and part-time programmes we offer. Our staff are fully qualified driving instructors and all programmes are approved by Land Transport New Zealand (LTNZ).

National Certificate in Passenger Service (Large Passenger Vehicle)
For those who want a career in bus driving, this programme, offered as a combination of both full-time and part-time, will give you the qualification you need.  You'll gain a Land Transport NZ Class 2 Driver Licence and a P (Passenger) endorsement. 

Commercial Road Transport - Class 2 Truck Driver
During this programme you will gain the knowledge and skills required to obtain an LTNZ Class 2 Driver Licence which will qualify you to drive a two axle vehicle up to 18 tonnes. The programme is six weeks in duration.  See course brochure for dates.

Commercial Road Transport - Class 2 Bus Driver
During this programme you will gain the knowledge and skills required to obtain an LTNZ Class 2 Driver Licence which will qualify you to drive a vehicle up to 18 tonne and get a P (passenger) endorsement to allow you to drive a two axle bus, eg school and small passenger bus. The programme is six weeks in duration and consists of evening classes and drive time during the day. You will also be required to undertake self-directed study beyond scheduled class time. Commercial Road Transport - Class 4 Truck Driver
This programme extends the skills and knowledge of Class 2 drivers to operate a heavy rigid motor vehicle and meet the requirements for a Land Transport NZ Class 4 Driver Licence.

Commercial Road Transport - Class 5 Truck Driver
During this programme, Class 4 driver licence holders will gain knowledge of stress, health and fatigue for safe driving, knowledge of heavy combination motor vehicle dynamics and meet the requirements for a Land Transport NZ Class 5 Driver Licence.

Commercial Road Transport - Forklift Operator
This four day programme will give you the knowledge and skills to gain an LTNZ F (Forklift) endorsement that will qualify you to drive a forklift up to 18 tonnes on a public road and meet the requirements to gain the OSH Code of Practice forklift safety certificate.  You will also be required to undertake self-directed study beyond scheduled class time. Commercial Road Transport - Dangerous Goods
This four day programme will provide you with knowledge of law and practice for the transport of dangerous goods by road which is required to gain the LTNZ D (Dangerous Goods) endorsement.  You will also be required to undertake self-directed study beyond scheduled class time.  See course brochure for dates.
