So, you know you like the beauty industry, but you're unsure which career path you should take? This introductory programme will give you the practical experience and knowledge in cosmetic services including hair care, facials, make-up applications, nail care, fragrance and men’s and women’s toiletries, customer service and sales as well as health and safety.

Entry

Open entry, however to succeed on this programme it is recommended that recent school leavers have achieved:

• at least 12 credits in literacy (English) and
• 8 credits in numeracy (Maths) towards the NCEA at Level 1.

Mature applicants are encouraged to apply.

English Language Requirements
If you are an overseas student or a new resident and English is not your first language, please note that study at tertiary level requires both written and oral participation. You may be required to have an IELTS score of 5.5 or a TOEFL score of 500.

• Comprehensive First Aid Certificate

Career Opportunities

At the completion of the programme you could gain employment in retail selling cosmetics and toiletries in a department store, or beauty salons or doing makeup for hairdressing salons.
