The Betty Loughhead Soroptimist Scholarship Trust

The Betty Loughhead Soroptimist Scholarship has been established to assist women intending to pursue a qualification that will enable them entry into the workforce, a change in occupation, and/or further qualifications in the occupation in which they are already employed.

Eligibility: 

To be eligible, women must:

  • be New Zealand citizens
  • be enrolled in an NZQA approved education programme that is to be undertaken in New Zealand
  • have a proven record of academic achievement
  • use the scholarship in the year for which it is awarded
  • be at least 25 years of age on October 1st in the year of application
  • be prepared to participate in soroptimist promotional activities should they be successful in their application for a scholarship
