Dillon Scholarship
The Dillon Scholarship provides financial assistance to people with significant disabilities, who will be undertaking tertiary education. It is operated and funded by BayTrust.
The scholarship was originally established to commemorate the 25th Jubilee of the Trust Bank Movement in the Bay of Plenty region, and was named after the late Ray Dillon, former Chairman of the Trust Bank Bay of Plenty Board. Mr Dillon was well known for his active support of many community activities.
The value of the scholarship is at the discretion of the Trust, up to $5,000 per annum for 4 years of full-time study. Part-time students may be given a scholarship for up to 5 years.
Funds will be released to successful applicants on receipt of all required documentation and proof of registration at the tertiary institution of their choice. Scholarship recipients are required to forward a brief progress report or their results to the Trust at mid-year and at the close of each academic year.
- Applicants must be already at a university, polytechnic or other New Zealand based institution recognised by NZQA, or else planning to attend one of these.
- The applicant's home base must be within the Bay of Plenty region (refer map)
- There is no age limit for applicants

- The Dillon Scholarship is only open to receive applications between November and December each year
- Applications should be made in the year prior to the year of tertiary education
- All applications will be assessed by a panel of Trustees. Some applicants may be asked to meet with the panel.
- The Trustees' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into
