Maori Education Trust Scholarships (General)
A wide range of scholarships is available through the Maori Education Trust.

Eligibility:
Applicants must be enrolled at either a secondary school or tertiary institution. Each scholarship has different criteria for eligibility. Please consult the website for details www.maorieducation.org.nz.
Application:
- Applicants are encouraged to make their applications online and an email address is compulsory
- Applicants are personally responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of the information they provide in their applications. Additional and amended information will not be accepted after the relevant closing date
- All hard copy applications must be on the form of the correct year and provide all required information legibly
- A scholarship round is spread over two years beginning from the release of applications and ending with the payment of grants. A scholarship year therefore is presented to represent the year in which the round is opened and also the year in which the payment is finally made eg. 2011/12
- A scholarship bequest may be pertinent to more than one category e.g. Tī Maru Scholarships for Secondary School, Undergraduate and Postgraduate
- A scholarship may also offer multiple awards
- Each scholarship has set criteria that govern the purpose of the individual award
- Selection panels are made up of external subject experts and representatives of bequest whānau and trusts
- Successful applicants will be required to provide hard copy evidence of their enrolment at their secondary school or tertiary institution, before final payments of grants are made.
