Extra funds to help while you study
Scholarships are another way of helping you meet fees, course-related costs and living expenses. They are not just for the top academic achievers. In some cases they can be gained by demonstrating a motivated attitude towards your education, a passion to succeed, connections with certain iwi or hapu, leadership skills and so on. The criteria varies depending on the particular scholarship or grant.

Many scholarships are administered by trusts and external organisations, and BOP Polytechnic administers a number of it's own very special scholarships. See our Full Scholarships & Grants list (PDF, <700kb).

• The Betty Loughhead Soroptimist Scholarship Trust
• Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Study Award (50 of $500 for part-time study & 25 of $1,000 for full-time study)
• Community Organisation Study Award (Four of $500)
• NZFGW - Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Awards for Women (Two of $500)
• (NZ Undergraduate) Study Abroad Awards (variable amounts)
• Team BOP Polytechnic High Performance Academy Sports Scholarship (FULL FEES)

Open To Secondary School Students:

• BOP Polytechnic Kelly Tarlton's Marine Studies Scholarship (Full Fee plus paid work placement)
• BOP Polytechnic Pacific Coast Scholarships (Full Fee for 1st year) a maximum of 25 scholarships - diploma & degree programmes 
• BOP Polytechnic TrustPower Scholarship (Environmental Management)  ($1,500)  
• Restaurant Assn. Education Trust Scholarships ($3,000)
• TeachNZ Scholarships (Early Childhood Education)

Open to Maori Students:

• Maori Education Trust Scholarships (General)
• Hauora Maori Scholarship (Healthcare & Nursing)
