Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Windermere Campus

Our main campus and the polytechnic’s administrative hub, is located on the southern side of the city, set in 24 hectares of trees and gardens providing an energizing and fun place to study for students of all ages.

Windermere Campus features modern lecture theaters complete with the latest video conferencing and presentation technologies, new state-of-the-art trades workshops built to emulate industry, as well as refurbished graphic design computer labs. It also houses purpose-built laboratories, fashion and art studios, a restaurant, cafés, beauty, massage and hair salons, a radio station and music recording suite, as well as Te Pare a Ruahine, our fantastic aquatic centre and gym.

From Mount Maunganui, Te Puke and Whakatane:

  • From SH2 turn onto the roundabout for SH29, by Baypark Stadium and go straight through towards Tauranga.
  • At the traffic lights/roundabout turn left but stay in the inside lane.
  • At the second set of lights/roundabout (close to the first) continue straight through onto SH29.
  • At the next roundabout take the third exit onto Poike Rd and follow the road turning right onto Windermere Drive. To reach the main parking lot and Information Centre, take the first exit at the roundabout.

From Hamilton & Rotorua:

  • Take SH29 in the direction of Tauranga, Mount Maunganui for approx. 58km over the Kaimai Ranges. As you come down off the ranges you'll go through a roundabout with a toll road on your left and The Lakes residential development on your right. Continue straight through and up the hill.
  • At the top of the hill continue straight through the roundabout and through the next one at the bottom of the hill.
  • At the next roundabout take the first exit onto Poike Road and follow the road, turning right onto Windermere Drive.
  • To reach the main parking lot and Information Centre, take the first exit at the roundabout.

From Waihi & Auckland:

  • Take SH2 for approx 57.5km and continue straight onto Fifteenth Avenue at Tauranga.
  • At the Fifteenth Ave traffic lights (Tauranga Boy's College is on the corner) continue straight ahead.
  • Follow the road down the hill, over the bridge, and up the hill to a roundabout.
  • At the roundabout take the fourth exit onto SH29 in the direction of Hamilton, Hairini.
  • Continue straight through the next roundabout (close to the first).
  • At the next roundabout take the third exit onto Poike Road and follow the road turning right onto Windermere Drive.
  • To reach the main parking lot and Information Centre, take the first exit at the roundabout.

Parking:

At Windermere Campus there is free visitor parking available. You can get your temporary pass at the Information Centre. Find out more about parking.

Public Transport:

Bay Hopper bus number 2 and 55 stops at Windermere Campus almost every half hour. Timetables are available from the Information Centre, by phoning Bayhopper on 0800 4 BAYBUS (0800 422 9287) or on the Bayhopper website.
