The annual Kids Grinder attracted almost 250 entries in 2012!

Almost 250 kids lined up on Sunday, 18 November for the third annual Kids Grinder, running, crawling, jumping and climbing their way around a 2km obstacle course.

Organised by Bay of Plenty Polytechnic’s Aquatic and Fitness team, the new course included a sack race, bouncy castles, tackle bags and a net crawl.

Most popular were the Gangnam-styled warm-up and of course, the bombing competition in the thermally heated pool.

Keith Martin, Aquatic Centre Manager, was pleased with the turn out, despite the dull weather. “Although the weather didn’t play it part it was a very enjoyable day,” says Keith. “It was great to see so many kids and parents having fun and getting active. Roll on 2013!”
