This programme pathways into the University of Waikato’s Bachelor of Science with a major in Applied Computing.
- Students enrolling are recommended to hold the New Zealand Certificate in Information Technology Essentials (Level 4), or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
To ensure enrolment with integrity is maintained, candidates may be required to meet with either the Programme Area Lead – Computing or teaching staff for the Computing, Communications and Technology programme area and/or attend a programme briefing session prior to completing an enrolment application.
All applications will be reviewed to ensure eligibility for entry to the New Zealand Certificate in Information Technology (Level 5) programme in accordance with the Toi Ohomai Regulatory Framework (Academic Regulations) and specified programme regulations.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTSInternational applicants for whom English is not their first language will be required to show evidence of language competency, issued within the last two years, before being eligible to enrol in any non-English programme. The level of competency required is outlined in Rule 18 and Appendix 2 of the NZQF Programme and Accreditation Rules 2013. And below under the title English Competency.
Level 5 certificate or diploma IELTS Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5 or completed NZ Certificate in English Language L4 with the Academic Endorsement or meets a relevant English Proficiency Outcome as outlined in Rule 18 and Appendix 2 of the NZQF Programme and Accreditation Rules 2013.
For domestic applicants for whom English is not their first language, evidence of language competency may be required.
