Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology's programme portfolio in Tauranga is delivered through four schools of study, offering short courses, certificates, diplomas, degrees and pathways in their respective subject areas.

Each school provides an enthusiastic and supportive learning environment through a range of specialised services.

Applied Science is the discipline of applying scientific knowledge to practical problems.

The School of Applied Science embodies this by bringing together research and teaching excellence in animal care, environmental management, horticulture, marine studies, maritime and aquaculture, and sport and recreation. Innovation, commitment and providing industry and community relevant programmes are what we're all about.

We have superb facilities at Tauranga's Windermere Campus including a dive training and aquatic centre, and we also make use of the region's wonderful natural environment whenever possible.

You'll have fun on our programmes while gaining a national qualification, and pathways to employment and further study both in New Zealand and overseas.

The School of Applied Technology in Tauranga provides high quality, hands-on programmes and courses designed to meet the varied and ever-changing needs of the industry.

Our programmes range from pre-employment courses for entry into apprenticeships, to certificates and diplomas that help you advance your career.

You can get the skills industry needs in architectural technology, automotive, carpentry, construction, electrotechnology, engineering, law enforcement, road transport and welding.

We keep pace with technological advances and industry to ensure you'll receive the best training and education possible in today’s fast changing world. Our staff are committed to help you gain a valuable qualification and then guide you into employment in your chosen vocation.

Applied Technology programmes and courses:

The School of Business is based in the heart of Tauranga’s CBD in the Bongard Centre.

Offering a wide range of certificates, diploma, graduate diploma and degree programmes, you can choose to study accounting, business analysis, business administration, finance, computing and information technology, legal studies (including immigration, conveyancing and real estate), management, marketing, travel and tourism programmes.

Links with other institutions allow study at certificate, diploma and degree level in Tauranga. We’ll help you get the job you want or start your own business.

Business programmes and courses:

Creativity and ingenuity are the guiding principles behind the School of Design and Humanities.

Encompassing art, beauty, fashion, graphic design, music and communications, our Design division focuses on nurturing your creative talents. We provide stimulating and energising work spaces.

Our tutors are leaders within their chosen fields, and include celebrated national artists and award-winning designers.

Our Humanities division focuses on developing your skills for the workplace and offers further education in adult teaching, early childhood education, health care, mental health, social work and work skills for the intellectually disabled.

Created in consultation with local industry, all programmes are high-quality, relevant and needed for growth in our region.
